Like many artists, I somehow found creative opportunity in the pandemic, using the alone time as a long desired artistic sabbatical. “Ghost Voices” reflects some of this exploration. Not surprisingly, themes of mortality—both micro, personal and macro, collective—found their way into this work.

These are essentially lo-fi recordings, all recorded live in my house with no overdubs, using only an Ipad with a Zoom mic. Pedal clicks and other ambient sounds just ended up as elements of the story. I delved deeply into glitchy, otherworldly sonics that felt home to me through the use of pedals such as the Pladask Elektrisk Fabrikat and the OBNE Black Fountain and BL44, sculpting looped, feedback-driven soundscapes through a Line 6 DL4.

NS Design NXTa and CR5 electric violins were used for this recording w/Henriksen amps.
